i want to learn spanish?

i am in jr. high and i have to take spanish next year, how can i prepare myself? watch spanish anime? or cartoons, isnt that how we learned eglish, by hearing it spoken? not by learning phrases.

If you want a little head start, you could learn a little of the basics. Such as greeting, numbers, and a few vocabulary words starting with the parents and kids.

Cheap program to learn Spanish?

I’m having a hard time learning Spanish in my class. Is there a program like Rosetta Stone to help, but doesn’t cost as much?

Rosetta wouldn’t be of much help anyway. It’s really only good to memorize vocabulary words. It doesn’t help with conversational skills. I would recommend you look into Pimsleur. It’s a real confidence builder, which is essential for new students. You will learn to train your ear to understand natives (an essential part of early learning often overlooked by other methods), develop very good pronunciation and acquire the core structures and grammar of your new language (exactly what RS fails to do.) It’s also almost half the price of RS (check Amazon.) Good luck.

Also note that Glober recommends you take note while doing Pimsleur! DO NOT DO THIS! This really goes against the scientific method developed by Dr. Pimsleur. That is expressly explained in the user’s guide and on the audio. You want to actively participate orally. Pimsleur is a not a passive, memorization method.

Dose anyone have any audio tapes or cds to learn spanish?

What’s the best way to learn spanish? What’s the easiest way? What’s the cheapest way?

I’ve tried watching tv with closed caption in spanish but I really can’t pick it up that way? What other suggestion do you have for the best way to learn spanish? the easiest way? and the cheapest way?

Talk to someone you know who knows Spanish and ask them to speak to you in their language. Do English literacy training volunteer work with someone who speaks Spanish and ask them to translate; it will make them feel good and help you along.
If you don’t know someone, go on line to your free translator and write a sentence to transfer to Spanish.
Listen to people speak in Spanish on TV. Never mind the caption.
I’ve looked up free on line verb and grammar in french to learn by doing the exercises. Repeat
Write it out and say what you are writing visualizing the meaning.
People who are illiterate will take pictures from newspapers and the like by writing the word they are trying to learn on the clippings and post them at the location.
If all else fails take a night class; in Canada we have English second language classes for free; perhaps they offer Spanish as a second language.
Where there’s a will there’s a way.

What is the easiest way to learn to speak and write spanish? College Courses? Software Program etc?

How long would it take to learn Spanish??

Hey… I have been trying to learn Spanish for, it seems like ages now! I have tried a lot of stuff… I was even really desperate and i tried searching on google but nothing seems to work… Do you know anything free and how long it would take to learn Spanish? Please answer quick!

I’ve been using a free website to learn Spanish at http://www.learn-podcast-spanish.com/spanish-tutorial.html. You can find movies, reviews, and tons and tons of the most common phrases natives use.

The phrases helped me because you cut to the chase and focus on just the things you need to say to communicate and be understood. It’s really good.

Check it out.

I really want to learn spanish soon. I need something that I could maybe go online and take are something. It has to be free.

The faster way to learn is having a friend to practice it, and a good Spanish course (books, cds, programs on the internet), if you can practice frecuently it should be faster. Just practice and practice, i could help you, if you wanted…

can someone help me with this activity i have to do for spanish class?

31. Talk about the seasons in Spanish. Give today’s date and talk about the weather, what season it is. Talk about one other season including a possible date and what the weather might be like. Indicate what kind of clothing you wear in each of those seasons. Use Spanish you have learned in this course.

A family learning to speak Spanish?

Ok so my parents went on some Spanish courses about 4 years ago. Beginners, and then my Dad went on to do the next one up too.
However we all now want to learn the language as best we can, and to refresh the basics too.
So we are going to be spending some time each week learning Spanish at home, as we cannot all go to college. Due to school or work.
Are there any materials, books, tapes, DVD’s that have helped you learn the language?
We are a family of a 16 y/o, 19 y/o, 42 y/o & 47 y/o.
Thanks!

I promise you this will help everyone and with very little effort…
Go to Ebay or something similar and see if you can pick up a copy of Michel Thomas foundation level Spanish. There are 8 discs, all you have to do is listen, no reading writing…. its very good indeed. I listen to it everyday nearly and find it really helpful.

how can i learn spanish online?

i cant find a good website. is their any good websites for free. also, i was wondering. is it too late to learn a new language if you are in your
late 20’s?

It’s not too late at all !

But, you need to be immersed in it to learn/ retain it. Online probably won’t cut it. It’s really great to be able to ask questions but you will not understand any of the answers you get unless you have practice speaking with real, live people.

Different people learn in different ways. A good immersion course is Rosetta Stone, you can get it online or in big bookstores. Try that first.

Also, for practice find a movie you have seen a few times and turn on the Spanish subtitles, then you can switch to Spanish audio with English subtitles later on.

Most important. You need to really want to do it and stick with it when it gets hard.
